NIBRS

The Zuercher Technologies NIBRS Suite is a complete UCR/NIBRS solution for state agencies. It is completely web based and consists of a full NIBRS repository, an agency data entry application, and a data mining and query solution. NIBRS Suite provides a true end-to-end solution.

Full NIBRS Repository

The cornerstone of the NIBRS Suite is a state of the art NIBRS repository. The repository is web based and uses a SQL Server platform. The entire FBI NIBRS standard is supported, including LEOKA and other recent FBI additions. Additional state specific fields can be added based on agency needs and FBI submissions consistently achieve greater than 99.8% acceptance rates.

The repository also provides various facilities for importing NIBRS data. It provides a self service import web application for local agencies, which allows them to upload files and receive error reports in realtime.

Agency Data Entry Application

Zuercher Technologies' Data Entry Application is a web application that is designed to be provided by state agencies to local agencies statewide. Because it is used over the internet, information entered is immediately available to the state. The data entry application provides a lightweight RMS solution for agencies without an RMS package that supports NIBRS. The data entry application is also used by agencies that upload data from third party RMS systems to view incidents and verify submissions.

Quick Tour

The data entry application includes entry pages for each NIBRS segment. All code fields are dropdowns with plain text explanations. This reduces the NIBRS learning curve.

Additionally, easy navigation links are placed throughout the application. These streamline the entry process and guide users through necessary segments based on the incident type.

An incident summary provides an outline of the incident and allows offenders, victims, property, etc. to be easily added and viewed. Each segment page contains links to related segments for easy navigation

Error checking is built into the core of the application and errors are shown in realtime as data is entered. Clicking 'Show Error' will highlight the element with the error. This level of interactivity improves data quality and reduces error rates.

Data Mining / Query Solution

Data can be filtered, searched, sorted, printed, and saved in many forms including PDF and Microsoft Excel files. Gathering statistics is made easy with convenient screens for criteria selection.
