Zuercher Technologies Announces Deployment of Data Sharing System for Iowa Clients

Friday, January 3, 2014.

As part of its commitment to provide state-specific solutions for its public safety software clients, Zuercher Technologies has announced the deployment of its ConnectRDS regional data sharing system for all client agencies in Iowa.

ConnectRDS is a regional data sharing system that will allow Zuercher Technologies’ Iowa client agencies to submit N-DEx data to a central repository located in Iowa.  Agencies will be able to determine if they want to submit data and what data they want to share.  Data within the repository will be available for reference within an agency’s ledsSuite system using the person search link or by accessing a web application.  ledsSuite users can perform a person search against all names recorded by using the ConnectRDS link on any master name record.  A web application will also allow for searching on other criteria, such as vehicles or locations.

The results of these searches can assist users in connecting information across county and city lines, as well as alerting officers of important notices that can improve their safety in the field.  The system has already been deployed in the state of South Dakota, where it has been rapidly adopted by agencies.

The deployment of the ConnectRDS system is planned shortly after the company’s first Iowa client, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, goes live with its ledsSuite software in 2014.  The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has agreed to host the server for the system and will be the first to submit data.

"With the technology that is now available from Zuercher Technologies, we possess the ability to share our full data with other agencies. I firmly believe this will prove to be a key step toward enhancing our success in fighting crime,” stated Sheriff Ted Kamatchus of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.

"Zuercher Technologies has seen tremendous success with our Connect RDS implementation in South Dakota for the DCI’s statewide N-DEx data sharing initiative. We are deploying a similar system to Iowa as a way to provide greater value to our current and future Iowa client agencies,” said Michael Zuercher, President of Zuercher Technologies. "We are confident that the Iowa agencies using ConnectRDS will enjoy similar benefits to those realized by the participating agencies in South Dakota.”
