The Todd County Sheriff’s Office in Long Prairie, Minnesota today began using ledsCAD, Zuercher Technologies’ intuitive, easy-to-use computer-aided dispatch system. The dispatch center at the Todd County Sheriff’s Office employs five full-time and three part-time dispatch staff, who provide call-taking and dispatch services to over 24,000 residents in Todd County.
The transition to the ledsCAD software proceeded smoothly, following on the heels of several days of training conducted by Zuercher Technologies. “Todd County dispatchers were able to easily learn the system, and the implementation of the system went very well,” said Todd County Sheriff Peter J. Mikkelson.
This marks the first step for the Todd County Sheriff’s Office in implementing ledsSuite, the fully integrated public safety software system by Zuercher Technologies. The agency will soon begin using ledsMobile to better enable dispatchers to monitor officers’ activity and availability for calls. ledsMobile will allow officers to update their statuses using touch-screen units and thus alleviate the dispatch workload, freeing up dispatchers to focus more on handling routine and emergency phone calls.
Todd County Sheriff’s Office employees are anxiously awaiting the full implementation of the system on September 1, 2009, when the agency will begin using ledsSuite’s Records, Jail, and Civil modules.
