ledsSuite will soon be used by local law enforcement in Pierre, SD, the capital city of Zuercher Technologies’ home state. The Pierre Police Department and Hughes County Sheriff’s Office will together install the full ledsSuite system, including CAD, Mapping, Records Management, Mobile CAD and Records, Jail Management, Civil Process Tracking, Financial Records, and Agency Administration. “It’s a comprehensive software package that takes all the functions we do in law enforcement and ties it all together,” said Police Chief Bob Grandpre.
The work done by personnel in one realm of the agency’s operations often provides useful data to personnel in another area—who are saved valuable time when their software system makes that information immediately available instead of requiring them to re-enter it. "It will simplify the report writing process,” said Grandpre. "The officers will be able to take what comes from dispatch without having to go to dispatch to get it and access it.”
Grandpre looks forward to ledsSuite’s mapping system, which is fully integrated with computer-aided dispatch and will allow dispatchers and officers to take advantage of GIS data when responding to incidents. Furthermore, the system makes all records about the people and addresses involved in an incident readily available to officers in their vehicles. These records include previous incidents, warrants, premise information, and alerts. "That has a huge advantage for our officer safety or just understanding the nature of what we’re going to deal with,” said Grandpre.
The system is scheduled to be installed in the first half of 2010.
