Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office Chooses ledsSuite Solution to Modernize Recently Renovated Dispatch Center

Wednesday, August 3, 2011.

After a thorough evaluation of several of the industry’s leading public safety software vendors, the Lumpkin County Enhanced E-911 Center has selected the ledsSuite solution by Zuercher Technologies as the best fit for their agency’s Computer-Aided Dispatch and Mobile Data software needs.

The Lumpkin County E-911 Center will be utilizing the ledsCAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch), ledsMapping, ledsMobile CAD, and ledsReporting applications to improve the effectiveness of their organization and compliment the recently remodeled E911 center. Over the past several years, the population of Lumpkin County has seen an influx of residents, causing the dynamics and needs of the county to change. The E-911 center, which dispatches for the sheriff’s office, county fire, and county EMS, expects to take over 40,000 calls by the end of the year, including the many calls received during their annual “Gold Rush Days” festival, a weekend event that causes the population of the county to double.

The need for a new solution was the culmination of antiquated technology and lack of customer support. "The software we were using was outdated and was holding us back instead of making us more efficient,” stated Jeff Cantrell, Director of Lumpkin County’s E-911 Center. "Our mission is to provide the safest, most effective and efficient emergency response services to the citizens of Lumpkin County in order to help protect their lives and property. We are excited about ledsSuite and its ability to help us meet this mission today and well into the future.”

The ledsMobile application, which extends critical “call for service” information and capabilities to the county’s public safety professionals in the field, will allow equipped Fire, EMS, and Sheriff’s units to become more efficient and offer a higher level of real time situational awareness to the calls they respond to.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Lumpkin County,” said Michael Zuercher, President of Zuercher Technologies, LLC. "They will be our first client in the state of Georgia and a prime example of how technology can truly enhance public safety agencies and the services they provide for the citizens they serve.”
